REKAYASA POLITIK IDEOLOGIS HTI DALAM MASYARAKAT ISLAM INDONESIA

This study aims to analyze the ideological political engineering carried out by Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) within the Indonesian Muslim society. HTI, as an organization advocating for the establishment of an Islamic caliphate, adopts a political approach distinct from other Islamic organizations in Indonesia. This research explores how HTI constructs an ideological narrative that has been accepted by a segment of Indonesian Muslims and its impact on political thinking within society. The ideological engineering approach employed by HTI is conducted through preaching, publications, and a well-organized structure, which has influenced the political and social perceptions of its followers. Using a qualitative approach and political ideology theory, this study analyzes the content of HTI’s preaching materials, the media used, and societal responses to HTI's ideology. The results of this study show that HTI has successfully created a deep ideological political awareness among a portion of society, despite challenges related to acceptance and conflicts with Indonesia's nationalism ideology. This research also examines the implications of HTI’s movement on the dynamics of Islamic politics in Indonesia and the potential friction between the caliphate ideology and the existing democratic system.
