Abstract

This research investigates ways in which Islamic moral values and manners influence student’s polite behavior while socializing in the digital world. The descriptive qualitative approach in this research relies on the literature study. The data were derived from the analysis of published research articles, books and regulations for the years 2018 to 2024. Results indicate that several Islamic values and ethics such as hifzh al-lisan (guarding one’s speech), tawadhu (humility), amanah (integrity), tawazun (balance), and husnuzhan (positive thinking) are used building digital character education on a firm normative base. This strategy will help instill more responsible use of digital media, therefore values can be successfully taught throughout the learning process. As a result, these principles can be rather successful in lowering unfavorable student conduct including cyberbullying, hate speech, or false news dissemination, which can be reduced by means of these values. This study shows that curriculum designers, teachers, and policymakers in Indonesia, in their efforts to foster a digital generation that is civilized, responsible, and grounded in faith, are greatly influenced by the study’s conclusion that Islamic ethics provide a comprehensive and transcendent framework for building a digital civilization.
