Abstract

This research investigates the impact of digital literacy on preventing cyberbullying among teenagers. It adopts a quantitative design through a survey involving 50 teens aged 15–18 who regularly engage with social media. Data was gathered via structured surveys and processed with descriptive statistics alongside simple linear regression. The results reveal a significant negative relationship between digital literacy and cyberbullying actions, meaning greater literacy levels correspond to reduced involvement in such behaviors. Teens with strong digital skills exhibit enhanced grasp of online etiquette, sharper critical evaluation of digital materials, and heightened recognition of the repercussions of damaging virtual conduct. The study determines that boosting digital literacy serves as a powerful tool to curb cyberbullying in this group. Thus, it advises schools to embed digital literacy in their programs and encourages parents to offer ongoing monitoring and support for digital media habits.
