Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought about significant changes across various spheres of life, including education. The utilization of AI can enhance learning effectiveness through material personalization, rapid access to information, and streamlined educational processes. However, the use of AI also raises ethical concerns, such as the dissemination of inaccurate information, algorithmic bias, privacy violations, plagiarism, and technological dependency. Therefore, an ethical framework is needed to guide AI usage so that it remains oriented toward human well-being. This study aims to analyze the concept of *hikmah* (wisdom) in Surah Al-Baqarah: 269 from an exegetical perspective and to examine its relevance as an ethical foundation for AI use in education. The study employs a library research method with a thematic exegesis (*maudhu‘i*) approach, analyzing classical and contemporary exegetical texts as well as literature on the ethics of technology and Islamic education. The findings indicate that *hikmah* in Surah Al-Baqarah: 269 is understood as a synthesis of accurate knowledge, profound understanding, the ability to make sound decisions, and the application of knowledge for the common good. These values hold strong relevance as ethical principles for AI usage—encompassing responsibility, justice, prudence, academic integrity, and a commitment to the common good. Thus, *hikmah*-based education can serve as a paradigm that integrates technological sophistication with moral and spiritual values, ensuring that AI usage not only yields efficiency but also fosters the development of individuals who are knowledgeable, wise, and of good character.
