Abstract

This paper examines the Ngaderes Budaya program initiated by the Regional Board of Pemuda Persis Sumedang as a progressive form of cultural da’wah. The event serves as an open platform for cultural discourse framed within Islamic values, while also addressing the narrow and skeptical perspectives often found among Muslims regarding local culture. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and case study method, the author explores the implementation dynamics, cadre participation, and emerging narratives from the discussions. The findings indicate that Ngaderes Budaya contributes to shaping a critical and contextual Islamic cultural literacy among Muslim youth. It also strengthens Pemuda Persis’s role as a da’wah agent that is responsive to contemporary challenges without compromising core Islamic beliefs. The paper recommends that such initiatives be developed sustainably and collaboratively to expand the reach of culturally-educational da’wah.
