Pemuda Muslim Di Persimpangan Jalan: Antara Simbol dan Esensi Beragama

The phenomenon of religious youth da'wah activists today shows a paradoxical tendency between the search for spiritual essence and interest in religious symbolism. On the one hand, they are fond of the visual identity of Islam displayed through social media, but on the other hand, there is still a void in the appreciation of the deep values of Islamic teachings. This study aims to examine how youth activists interpret and actualize da'wah amidst the tension between essence and attributes in religion. The method used is qualitative with a literature study approach and limited field observation. The results of the study show that youth da'wah is currently at a crossroads: most are still trapped in formalistic aspects, while others are starting to move towards more substantial da'wah bil hal. Therefore, a down-to-earth, dialogical, and transformative da'wah approach is needed so that youth can carry out the role of da'wah in a more meaningful and contextual way.
